About me

How a political scientist became a Kundalini yoga teacher – and why Sinnergie grew out of it.

My path

At home between worlds

I was born near Gdańsk, in a different political system than today. I spent my early childhood surrounded by nature before life took me to West Berlin during the Cold War. I attended Catholic schools and filled my free time with ballet lessons, dance competitions and psychological literature.

Later I studied psychology, Slavic studies and political science, graduated with an M.A. and worked as a political scientist. During my studies I began to practice yoga. The first classes felt strange – and yet a powerful force drew me very strongly to yoga. Meeting Alexandra Schuhmacher led me to Kundalini Yoga. That's when it became clear to me: “Without Kundalini Yoga, I no longer want to be.”

My task

I see my central task as creating synergies between worlds that supposedly exclude one another – head and body, profession and calling, structure and surrender. Out of this stance, Sinnergie also grew: the institute for coaching & mindfulness in Berlin that I founded and lead, and in which many people work together today.

Without Kundalini Yoga, I no longer want to be.
