From Chaos to Inner Stillness
A guest post by Michael Gollmer on humility, love and recognition – and the path from the loudness of the world to the stillness within us.
Guest post · Impulse
Our time is loud. Stimuli, news, expectations – the outside world presses in relentlessly. And yet we long for something that gets lost in the noise: for a stillness in which we can hear ourselves again.
Three signposts
Michael Gollmer describes three attitudes that lead us out of the inner chaos: Humility – knowing that we do not have to control everything. Love – the willingness to accept ourselves and others with kindness. And Recognition – a clear view of what truly is. From these three grows a calm that carries us.
Stillness is not an empty space
Inner stillness is not the absence of sound, but a state of connectedness. In it we understand ourselves and find meaning – not through doing more, but through truly being present. That is exactly where meditation, breath and mindfulness lead.
The strength lies in calm and in treating yourself mindfully.
