Your Body as an Anchor – Embodiment for Highly Sensitive People

Why sensitive people in particular need a strong body as their home – and how yoga can help.

A peaceful natural place to arrive and pause

High Sensitivity & Embodiment

We increasingly live in our heads. Industrialisation and digitalisation have brought us much that is good – and at the same time they have distanced us somewhat from our bodies. For highly sensitive people, this disconnection is especially noticeable: those who perceive a great deal need a safe place to which they can return. That place is one's own body.

Embodiment means: being at home again

Embodiment means bringing awareness back into the body – sensing rather than merely thinking. For sensitive people this is not a game but self-care: an embodied, grounded self can better carry the abundance of impressions without becoming lost in them.

How yoga grounds you

In Kundalini Yoga we work deliberately with the nervous system. Strengthening Kriyas build a stable, present body – a kind of inner structure. Gentle, more yin-like elements then help to integrate what has been experienced and to come to rest. In this way both arise: strength and softness, support and openness.

An anchor for everyday life

Over time, the body becomes a reliable anchor. When the outside world grows loud, there is a place to which you can withdraw – with a conscious breath, the contact of your feet with the ground, a moment of sensing. This is the quiet power of mindfulness.

Come into your body

If, as a sensitive person, you are looking for more support and grounding, Kundalini Yoga is a good path. I will accompany you gently and at your own pace.
