When the sound takes over the work

There is a point where thinking stops and feeling begins. The gong carries you exactly there. Its sound envelops you, permeates you – and your nervous system understands at once: here I am allowed to let go.

Sound work reaches deeper than any effort. The vibrations lead you into a state between waking and sleeping, in which tension dissolves on its own. The breath grows calm, thoughts grow quieter, the body is finally allowed to give way. What remains is deep relaxation – and often the feeling of being newly sorted out.

What the sound moves within you

  • Deep relaxation – the body switches from functioning into regeneration, often deeper than in normal sleep.
  • A regulated nervous system – stress and constant tension are allowed to release, the parasympathetic system takes over.
  • Letting go – sound needs no understanding. You don't have to do anything, achieve anything, or get anything right.

How a session unfolds

I have been playing the gong for over fifteen years – and what it stirs in a room still touches me every time. We begin with gentle Kundalini exercises and conscious breath, to arrive and prepare the body for the vibration. Then you lie down, wrapped in a blanket, and I take you into the gong bath. You have nothing more to do than lie there and listen. The sound takes care of the rest.
